External Users

External Users is anyone not directly employed by an FFMVic Agency that is required to complete mandatory online training, this includes: Contractors, First Aid Providers, Heavy Plant/Machinery Operators etc.

Courses Available to External Users:

  • Basic Wildfire Awareness
  • Tree Hazard Awareness Update see here for more information

Need to complete an online course? Here's what you'll need to do:

  1. Create an account in LaDIS here if you don't already have one
    • Password Requirements 
      • Password length must be between 8- 128 characters
      • Be a combination of Uppercase and lowercase letters
      • Contain at least one number (but not the same number duplicated i.e. 44 or 55)
    • If an account already exists with the same name and DOB
      • If you have previously had a Fireweb account it is possible that your account details were imported into LaDIS and you have a LaDIS Account
      • You may have previously created a LaDIS account to complete online training
      • Raise a service support ticket here to retrieve your username and password.
  2. Obtain your Unique Student Identifier (USI) following the steps here
  3. Login to LaDIS using the button at the top of this page - or if you just created an account you may be logged in already.
  4. Follow the steps to enrol in an online course here
  5. Your enrolment will require approval by our LaDIS Support team and may be pending for 2 - 4 business days.
  6. Once your enrolment has been approved, log into LaDIS and go to the 'Online Courses' tab to access the course
  7. Launch and Complete the course please note when you finish the course only close the pop up window you completed the course in

Please Note: To complete the Basic Wildfire Awareness (BWA) Course online, participants will need basic computer and literacy skills. If you need assistance or would like to discuss learner support options, please Raise a Support Ticket by clicking here: Contact FFM Support.

International Users Please Note: If you are coming from overseas to do contract work for the department you will not require a USI however due to our system requirements for domestic students you will need to raise a support ticket here so we can enrol you in the course directly.
